This project – renovating and expanding an existing house in a Moshav in the Sharon – was inspired by an old carpenter’s table, which had belonged to the owner’s father. We turned it into an island in the open kitchen, a meeting point and a center of activity in the house.
Like many houses of the past, this house was closed to the surrounding garden. We opened the house to the view and the surrounding garden, and created pleasant places in the garden itself, which would be part of the house and complete it. To do this, we even had to lower the level of the living room floor. It paid off !
Throughout the house, we used iron windows, painted in a deep eggplant hue. For both the interior and exterior we used slate tiles in shades of gray. The furniture is in the style of the 1950s and 1960s, which is a favorite of the owners. The garden design fits well with the new character of the house.
